PORTER, Texas -- A man and a child were rushed to the hospital Thursday night after being struck by lightning.

A soccer team of 8- and 9-year-olds was practicing on the field at Crippen Elementary School when heavy rain began to pour down at about 7:30 p.m.

There was thunder and then lightning struck a 21-year-old coach and a 9-year-old girl.
