JEFFERSON COUNTY - The Eastex Crime Stoppers program is suspended after helping solve crimes in 11 counties for more than two decades.

Supporters say a lack of funding has forced the program to become inactive. They blame the struggling economy.

The move has no impact on the Beaumont Crime Stoppers program which is thriving and is often rated among the top such programs in the state.
