GALVESTON COUNTY - If you have received a phone call in the past day or two apprising you that you have won $10 million from Publishers Clearing House, you really haven't.
And if you followed the callers instructions and wired them $8,000 in order to get your
ten million, too bad.
A former Galveston County Commissioner got the call today from a couple of ladies telling him the Prize Patrol was on the way with his big check and all he had to do was wire them the sucker
money. Instead he called the District Attorney, who alerted police who alerted the media.
If you got a call from the ladies using the names Deborah Hollar and Redella Jackson and if you sent them 8 grand, I'm sure they want to thank you, but don't expect to see the Prize Patrol pull up
in front of your house tomorrow, or any other time for that matter.
And also, if you did get that call, do everyone else a favor and call your local police so they can make a record of it and compare notes with each other.
Have a safe and happy Labor Day weekend.
