SANTA FE, TX - A former Maryland man was arrested Thursday in Texas in connection with the February slaying of a 63-year-old Elkton man.
Hubert Allen Wood, 21, formerly of the 1800 block of E. Old Philadelphia Road, was arrested as a fugitive by officers with the Santa Fe Police Department, according to the Cecil County, Maryland
Sheriff's Office.
Daniel Curran, was found stabbed to death Feb. 17 inside his home in the 1700 block of E. Old Philadelphia Road.
A neighbor who went to check on Curran's welfare found him dead in his bedroom.
Wood was an acquaintance of the victim who visited him several times before the murder.
He is being held without bail in the Galveston County Jail pending an extradition hearing next week.
When returned to Maryland, Wood faces charges of first- and second-degree murder, first-and-second degree assault, armed robbery and reckless endangering.
