LA MARQUE - A grand jury indicted a man on a murder charge in the shooting death of his former girlfriend, authorities said Thursday.

Kenneth Joel Loftis, 25, initially was charged with tampering with physical evidence and held on $150,000 bond, stemming from the June 15 fatal shooting of Monique Powell, 26.
